Lee Bullock column

All the lads have been grilling Robbie Threlfall about what it’s like at Liverpool.

We’re always asking him about training with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres and what the manager is like. But he doesn’t know that because they’ve never spoken.

You can tell Robbie has got a great talent and yet he’s a million miles away from the Liverpool first team. You wonder if he might have a better chance of making it if he was a foreigner.

It’s mad that a player with his quality has never had a sniff.

But he has slotted straight in with us and gone about his job brilliantly. He’s had no problems settling in with this level and his attitude’s spot on.

And his free-kicks, like the one on Tuesday, show real technique.

I’m getting used to playing alongside Adam Bolder, another of the loan lads.

Flynny always likes to get forward and look to score goals so sometimes I get left there on my own. But Adam likes to get on the ball and pass and create.

The gaffer wants two solid midfielders in there helping the back four.

The other night I got pulled out of position a few times and got shouted at. He certainly lets you know about it if you aren’t carrying out his instructions.

It will help him having no midweek game after Saturday.

The new gaffer is obviously putting his stamp and authority on the shape of the team but he hasn’t been able to have a decent bash at it on the training ground because we’ve played so often.

I imagine we’ll have a really good week coming up, working on shape and our set-pieces.

That’s one area of our game that has really improved. Every time we get a corner now we fancy our chances.

The winner against Rotherham was a great header from James. It looped perfectly over everyone and into the top corner.

And it was great to see the celebrations afterwards with our fans. I just wish we could give them more great moments like that.
