Thornton United stormed to the top of Division 2B with a 6-1 win over fifth-placed Heaton Athletic yesterday to keep their unbeaten Bradford Sunday Alliance League record intact.

Man of the match Danny Walker scored a brace, Jason Butters, Dave Wilson, Lee Walker and Sean Clifford completing the rout.

Beldon Sports had a second- half hat-trick by on-fire Andy Boltwood and first-half strikes from Luke Shaw and James Cathcart to thank for their 5-0 demolition of New Tyke Rangers, while bottom club Stocks Lane United only lost 2-1 against high-flying Thornbury Celtic because of a debateable penalty.

Undercliffe’s fine form continued but it wasn’t as straightforward as they would have liked in going joint top of Division 3A.

Goals from Michael Reynolds, Nick Scullion and Wayne Campbell gave them a 3-0 half-time lead but George Hotel pulled two goals back and had a penalty saved by Chris Walters.

In Division 3B, Shoulder of Mutton came through a tight game to beat Ravenscliffe Reserves 3-2 with goals from Dave Priestley, Wayne Griffith and Peter Jones.

An Andy Kenyan hat-trick and a Chris Cairns solo was enough for unbeaten Stanningley Albion to beat Aire Athletic 4-1, while the Harold Club beat second-from- bottom Three Horses 6-2, with Dave Penney on the scoresheet.

Tyrone Terralonge was the star as Afc Titans beat De Treffors 3-1, hitting a treble, while Robin Hood lost to a Khurram Shazad brace as Hockney beat them 2-0.
