Just two T&A League matches escaped the continuing bad weather but at least a delayed League Cup quarter-final is now out of the way, with West Bowling United making progress.
Bowling edged out hosts Sporting Athletic 3-2 in a bad-tempered encounter at Apperley Bridge, although they had to twice come from behind to do so.
An early own goal was cancelled out by Shazard Ashraf’s penalty but Andrew Yates restored Sporting’s advantage just before the interval.
United gradually started to dominate in the second half and it was no surprise when Usman Khan equalised after 65 minutes, with continuous pressure then rewarded five minutes from time as Ikraeez Ashfaq slotted the winner.
One Premier Division match saw title hopefuls White Abbey Road beat ten-man visitors Abundant Life Church 2-1.
Whaid Khan gave Road a 20th-minute lead and although Aaron Scott equalised before half-time, Abundant Life then had a player sent off.
They showed commendable spirit with reduced numbers but the hosts eventually wore them down and Ali Asif Khan hit the winner five minutes from time.
