We’ve got an extra incentive waiting on the training ground if we win on Saturday.

The gaffer has brought in a bit of fun with a new training game after matches.

If the team get beaten, the 11 lads who started have to line up in goal facing the net while the rest of the squad and staff volley balls full whack at them!

But if we win, then it’s the turn of the lads who didn’t play plus the manager and Jakes to face the volleys.

We rightly got whacked after Accrington but forgot about it on Thursday following the Rochdale game. So hopefully we can win again on Saturday and then we’ll owe them two on Monday morning!

It’s been a week of real mixed fortunes for us but hopefully it’s going in the right direction at last.

The way we played last Saturday for a new manager was pathetic.

He probably went back down the M1 to London afterwards wondering what he had done accepting the job. I wouldn't be surprised if Jakes had to ring him on Sunday to persuade him to come back.

But then we went out on Tuesday and put on a great show against the leaders.

It was a solid, all-round performance; a proper one in every position. We weathered the first 20 minutes of the second half and then thought ‘right, let’s go and win this.’ Maybe it’s got other people in the league thinking that Bradford are sorting themselves out.

We’re not going to get carried away with one result but we’ll keep doing the new drills that the gaffer has brought in and hopefully start getting better.

We’ve got to forget what league position Darlo are in.

It's more important we carry on from Tuesday and get a win in front of our own fans, especially as it’s the gaffer’s first home game.
