Farsley Celtic were hit for six at the weekend but they will be looking for a three-point maximum from tomorrow night’s visit of Stafford Rangers in the Blue Square North.

Celts manager Neil Parsley had no problem accepting defeat as he felt his side had defended poorly and failed to get a grip of the game in midfield. However, he did think that the 6-2 scoreline at Nicky Laws’ Alfreton Town was tough to swallow.

“Six was a bit harsh on the lads really but it happened and we have had to deal with that since Saturday and be ready to go again tomorrow night,” said Parsley.

“The only good thing is that they will not have to dwell on that defeat for long. The players have the opportunity to go out and put that right tomorrow, and it is in a big game that we need points from.

“It is one thing losing to Alfreton Town and Southport but we can’t afford that against the sides in and around us in the table.

"We managed that last week when we beat Stalybridge away and we need to make the most of this home game.”

Parsley has one injury concern and another player ruled out through suspension.

Striker Lee Ellington pulled up in Saturday’s defeat with a calf-muscle injury, while defender Patrece Liburd is beginning a four-match ban.

The ban is four games because it was for his second red card of the season.

The boss is hoping that left back Ryan Serrant is fit to return from a hamstring injury.
