Thackley suffered a rare defeat last weekend but will be expecting to bounce back against struggling Nostell Miners Welfare at Dennyfield on Saturday.

A win would take Dave Morgan’s side through the 50-point barrier in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and consolidate their top-four status.

Referring to the 2-1 defeat at Maltby Main, he said: “Our players are not paid fortunes and they do make mistakes.

“If they were more consistent they would probably be at a higher level.

“But we pick ourselves up and try to go on another run.

“The lads have done really well to get us in the top four and we need to keep picking points up to maintain the pressure on the top three.

“Maltby were hungrier than us last week. We lacked that extra bit of desire and commitment but we can do something about that.”

Rivals Liversedge are in good spirits after registering back-to-back victories and head to relegation-threatened Shirebrook Town.
