Hyde United 4, Farsley Celtic 1
Farsley Celtic suffered their second defeat in the space of three days in the Blue Square North against a club as desperate for points as themselves.
The Celts were beaten 4-1 at Hyde United tonight after going down 1-0 at home to Gloucester City on Saturday.
All three clubs are fighting for survival but Farsley have the added burden of working under a ten-point penalty.
It was a rare poor performance from Farsley, with the contest being over by the break when they trailed 3-0.
Hyde’s Lee Rick broke the deadlock midway through the first half and Kevin Holsgrove added a second.
There was a crushing blow as Rick notched his second right on the stroke of half-time. It got even worse for the visitors as Hyde gained a four-goal cushion two minutes into the second half through Scott Mooney.
Farsley were gifted a penalty in the 53rd minute for a harsh handball shout and skipper Dominic Krief rifled it in.
The Celts were reduced to ten men three minutes into stoppage time when Patrece Liburd was shown a straight red card for a two-footed lunge on former Celt Scott McNiven.
