Steve Illingworth, centre, is back from a knee injury
West Bowling playmaker and captain Steve Illingworth is set to return from a knee injury in the long-delayed Ace BARLA Nat-ional Cup second-round tie at home to Askam on Saturday (2pm).
Wests are confident the anticipated warmer weather will see the tie take place but they will try again on Sunday if the game fails to beat the elements.
Otherwise, BARLA rules mean the game will be switched to Askam the following week, leaving Bowl-ing with an expensive transport bill and a reduced chance of progressing further in the competition.
