Wakefield 6, Liversedge 3
Bucking the trend last night, there were a plethora of chances at Wakefield but it was Liversedge who exited the West Riding County Cup quarter-finals as their hosts ran out 6-3 victors.
The UniBond side racked up a 3-0 lead inside the first quarter of the game as Chris Howarth, Craig Laight and Danny South all netted.
Sedge got a lifeline when Jamie Wasley converted a Brook Newton cross but any hopes of a comeback were soon scuppered as Andy McManus and Howarth added further goals for the home side before the break.
Tom Denton volleyed in to give Wakefield a 6-1 lead but a late double from Newton brought respectability back to the scoreline.
