It was a strange feeling at Darlington because the dressing room was a bit flat even though we’d won away from home.
It took the gaffer and a few lads to remind us that we’d still picked up the three points.
Everyone was a bit disappointed with the second half. They were just lumping high balls at us and we were lumping them back.
But winning was the most important thing and it kept up our very good away record. Now it’s plainly obvious we need to get it right at home.
Apart from our last home game, we’ve had some good performances but been held to draws. We’re not stupid and we know we need to win more.
If we could do that, combined with our away form, we’d be a right team. But it’s easier said than done and Rotherham on Saturday will be a good test.
In the two years I’ve been at the club, we’ve always had good games and beaten them here twice. Hopefully we can make it a hat-trick tomorrow.
Maybe it will be in their minds that they haven’t fared so well here recently. But there are different players now so I’m not sure.
Obviously Nicky Law is coming back and we know he’s a very good player. You could see his ability with the way he picks up the ball and glides with it.
But hopefully, if I play, strength and age can come out on top of his young legs and skills.
You’re only a good player if you’ve got time on the ball. If we give good players time like we did with Rochdale, that’s when the problems start.
But get round them, get stuck in and get possession yourself then they don’t look so good.
I had a good time with the Shelf Bantams this week at their fund-raising games night for the Burns Unit at the Shoulder of Mutton pub.
Clarkey also went along and got beaten by a ten-year-old at dominoes! So well done Joe Hardaker.
Clarkey did redeem himself at the table-top skittles and I won the pool competition – although I had a bit of a draw like England with all the good players knocking each other out.
