Guiseley 2, North Ferriby 3
Guiseley failed to grab their chance of banking points in the UniBond Premier Division when they allowed a 2-0 lead to slip through their hands at Nethermoor last night.
The Lions had not been in league action since mid-November because of cup ties and two blank Satur-days.
They needed to make the most of a rare home league game but were thwarted by a spirited United.
The home side led at the break after taking one of few chances for either side in the first half. A free-kick from Steve Burton was headed home by former Bantams defender Simon Ainge in the 16th minute.
They looked to be on their way to a positive result when they doubled their lead just over a minute into the second half.
It came from the penalty spot after Adam Muller was brought down in the area and Jamie Walshaw netted.
However, a former Lions favourite came back to haunt the home side. Sam Denton, who began his career at Valley Parade like Ainge, struck direct free-kicks either side of the hour to make the game all-square.
Ferriby won it six minutes from time when Alex Davidson lashed home.
The defeat could cost the Lions more ground in the league as they are in FA Trophy action this weekend.
