Micky Doyle is keen to help Leeds United quickly extinguish Kettering Town’s fire in tonight’s FA Cup second-round replay at Elland Road and book a glamour trip to Old Trafford.

Midfielder Doyle, on loan from Coventry, enjoyed facing Liverpool in the Carling Cup despite Leeds’ 1-0 defeat in September and he wants another taste of the big time against Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.

Doyle said: “The game is massive for both teams, especially with Manchester United awaiting the winners. If we can get past Kettering and face Manchester United we will have played against two of the biggest clubs in the Premiership this season.

“We are massive favourites. No disrespect to them, but on the form we’ve been in, everyone is champing at the bit to play and put the game to bed early.”

Casper Ankergren warns Leeds will have to be on top of their game. He said: “We have to be professional and do our job. If we play to our best ability we should beat them comfortably but it is not far between 100 per cent and 95 per cent. If you only play at 95 per cent, teams like Kettering will make it difficult for you because they will give everything.”

Leeds manager Simon Grayson is expected to field his strongest available side, though he is without loan players Sam Vokes, Max Gradel, David Martin and Hogan Ephraim.
