Old Otliensians were relieved winners of the Hansons Furnishers Aire-Wharfe Cup last night.
After having the better of the first half, they finished up hanging on as visitors Aireborough missed four late penalties – three by James Stocker and one by Nick Holdsworth.
Tries for ’ensians came from centre James Tincknell and fly half John Ratahi, full back Kristian Keinhorst adding two penalties and a conversion.
Aireborough’s points came from a try by winger James Druce, Stocker landing three penalties and a conversion.
Bradford & Bingley won an equally lively Plate final 36-20 at West Park Leeds with tries by No 8 Martin Mitchell (2), winger Tom Gough (2) and centre Andy Poynter, fly half Richard Scull adding four conversions and a penalty.
Park replied with tries by Sam Taylor and Tom Howard, plus a penalty try, Jon Wagner kicking a penalty and a conversion.
