Stocks Lane Rangers felt Christmas came early as they booked their place in the semi-finals of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League's Sunday Cup. Wrose Albion took an early lead which spurred Rangers into life. Matthew Hannon bagged a brace to turn the tie on its head before Ben King sealed the game for the Division 2B title hopefuls.
Mail Coach and IMS Celtic are also through to the semi-finals following impressive victories over KAG and Commercial Esholt respectively.
In Division 3A, table-toppers Hudsons Athletic welcomed Peel Park Avenue to Northcliffe Park. In a tight game full of incident, a thumping header from Chris Sheriffe set Peel Park Avenue on their way to all three points.
After the game, the Avenue players saluted manager Jez Whittingham’s tactics in the 3-2 victory.
Bradford Phoenix have also narrowed the gap on Hudson’s following a comprehensive 8-1 victory over Fairweather WMC. Stuart White received the man of the match award following his first hat-trick for the club.
A Craig Milner hat-trick helped Stocks Lane United defeat promotion rivals Keighley Rangers 4-3 in Division 3B.
The result pushes Stocks to the top of the table following Thornbury Celtic’s 3-3 draw at Bradford Moor YSA.
Nab Wood Juniors Reserves are up to fifth in the table following a resounding 12-3 victory over bottom club Prospect Sunday Reserves. Chris Winn and Liam Shields both hit stunning hat-tricks in the weather- affected match.
Elsewhere, Shoulder of Mutton secured their second win of the season following a Wayne Griffiths treble against Ring o Bells. Man of the match Dave Priestley added a brace as the game ended 5-3.
A Shamas Akhter 20-yard thunderbolt opened the scoring for Cycling AFC as they secured their sixth consecutive victory in Division Four.
Their opponents Bradford Dragons had struck back through Bradley Goodaire but Cycling were too strong in the latter stages and powered to a 6-1 victory.
Harold club are hot on their heels after Simon Emery celebrated his first start as striker by hammering a hat-trick as his team defeated Oddfellows Athletic 7-1. A Chris Gibson brace helped Bradford Lions battle out a 4-4 draw with Shimla in the only game in Division 2A.
Heaton Athletic have fought their way out of the relegation zone in Division 2B following a 2-0 win over Quarry Bradford. Idle are up to fifth after a 4-0 win at Nab Wood Juniors.
