Eccleshill United were thwarted by the weather yet again but there were no widespread problems for the local semi-professional clubs.
The Eagles’ home game against Brodsworth Welfare was the only game in the Kool Sport NCE League Premier Division to fall foul of the conditions.
“The game was off unfortunately and it was a waterlogged pitch that was the problem,” said club spokesman Mark Holstead.
It is another frustration but the more games that remain in hand for recently-returned manager Ray Price – even if it means playing three times a week towards the end of the season – the better.
Price is hoping to pick up some players to add to his squad when the UniBond League clubs release en bloc after the holiday period. Given the financial health of the club, it is the only option available to the boss.
