Leeds Carnegie Ladies will be returning to Nottingham for the first time since the Women's FA Cup final when they play Nottingham Forest Ladies on Sunday in the Tesco Women's Premier League.

The game, which was originally scheduled for Tadcaster but later reversed, will kick-off at 1pm.

Leeds haven’t played a competitive game since the start of November, but Leeds manager Rick Passmoor has been using the time off to his advantage.

“The enforced break has allowed us to work on a few things on the training pitch,” he said, “and it’s given some of our players a chance to recover properly from minor injuries.

“Fortunately, between the England games and the weather cancellations, we’re still in touch with the teams above us.

"If we stay focused and have a bit of belief and confidence in what we’re doing, I know this team can close the gap to the top.”

The first game of the New Year for the first team will be a home FA Women’s Cup fourth-round tie against Plymouth Argyle Ladies or Forest Green Rovers Ladies, followed by home league games against Birmingham City Ladies and Nottingham Forest Ladies.

Meanwhile, the reserves will be in the heart of the Spen Valley on Sunday as they face Ossett Albion Ladies in the next round of the West Riding Women’s County Cup.

This follows their defeat of Ossett Town Ladies in the previous round. Kick-off will be at 2pm.
