CITY left Colchester with a familiar deflated feeling after yesterday’s draw.
T&A chief sports writer SIMON PARKER was at the JobServe Community Stadium and provides the match stats and his player ratings.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Andy Cook notched his 11th goal of the season to put City seemingly on course for a much-needed away win and also bossed the aerial battle with the Colchester defence.
MOMENT OF THE MATCH
Andy Cook once again showed his poacher’s technique to bury the loose ball after Bobby Pointon’s shot was blocked in the box.
MOAN OF THE MATCH
City were nearly there when they paid a hefty price for allowing Jamie McDonnell to roam free and unhindered at Colchester’s final corner.
TACTICS
Jack Shepherd was back from suspension at centre half to allow Lewis Richards to return to left wing-back. The other change saw a start up front for Olly Sanderson as second striker.
Vadaine Oliver and Calum Kavanagh dropped to the bench – where Corry Evans returned after missing the Fleetwood game with cramp in his hamstring.
But Kavanagh was then replaced by Tyler Smith after feeling his quad tighten during the warm-up before the game.
