THE Bradford Dragons fell to a heavy defeat on Saturday night, losing 123-78 to the Milton Keynes Breakers. Despite a valiant effort from the home team, the Breakers proved too strong.
The Dragons struggled to find their rhythm early on, falling behind by double digits in the first quarter. Milton Keynes dominated the paint, with A. Scarborough leading the way with ten points and four rebounds in the opening period.
Bradford only managed to convert 38% of their field goal attempts in the first half.
The second half saw little change in momentum as the Breakers continued to extend their lead. N. Robinson was unstoppable for the visitors, pouring in 22 points by the end of the third quarter.
The Dragons’ M. Savery Richards and J. Whelan tried to keep their team in the game with 12 points each at the halfway mark
Breakers dominated large parts of the game, shooting a scorching 58% from the field compared to the Dragons’ 38%. A. Scarborough finished the game as the top scorer with 43 points and 14 rebounds for the Breakers, while K. Johnson orchestrated the offence with nine assists.
For the Dragons, J. Whelan and M. Savery Richards were the bright sparks, each scoring 24 points.
