Yorkshire have announced that Jafer Chohan has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
It is a deal that keeps the emerging leg-spinner at Headingley until the end of 2027.
And he has more news to celebrate now, having received a surprise call up for England's white-ball tour of the West Indies, which starts at the end of this month.
He will be joined by fellow Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who has helped to mentor him so far in his young career.
Chohan, 22, has been with Yorkshire for the last two seasons, having joined after playing some of his cricket with the prolific South Asian Cricket Academy.
London-born Chohan also spent time in the Middlesex Academy.
This season, he claimed 17 wickets in 10 Vitality Blast appearances, the second-best return in the Yorkshire squad.
On signing his new Yorkshire contract, Chohan said: “I’ve spent two years with Yorkshire, and I couldn’t be happier. There’s no better place to be at or a more prestigious one.
“Everyone can see that the club has made big steps forward in the last few years.
“Having met with the senior team and discussed plans, I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead, and I am ready for the hard work expected here.
“I am hugely ambitious and for myself, it’s about being the best cricketer I can be, which means getting better year on year.
“I’m constantly looking at ways I can improve and for the team, I will be giving everything to help bring success at Yorkshire.”
Chohan’s form in 2024 gained the attention of the Sydney Sixers management, and he was signed by them in the Big Bash League draft at the start of last month.
He will play for the Sixers as an overseas player this winter.
The Big Bash competition will take place either side of Christmas, when Chohan will share the Sixers dressing room with Australian legend Steve Smith.
An excited Chohan said: “I can’t wait.
“I’ve not been to Australia yet, so it will be really nice to go there and play in a big competition like the Big Bash.
“Hopefully that will give me some really good experiences and learning, coming back into the new season with Yorkshire.”
Chohan is not the only young Yorkshire player off Down Under, with talented batting prospect Noah Kelly having just arrived in Australia for a winter of club cricket.
The pair's goodbye will only be temporary, but Yorkshire have been waving farewell to a host of playing and coaching staff over the last few days, following the conclusion of their Vitality County Championship promotion-winning season.
Matthew Fisher, Dom Leech and Mickey Edwards have all played their final games for Yorkshire, while head coach Ottis Gibson and assistant coach Ali Maiden are leaving for pastures new too.
