Bradford Park Avenue lost 2-1 to Ossett United in the FA trophy.

All 3 goals came in the second half.

Avenue started with real intent and showed they aimed to do everything they could to stay in the competition.

With just five minutes of the game gone, Avenue got the first chance of the game as James Hanson chested the ball to Connor Shanks.

Sadly, Shanks couldn’t keep his effort down and sent the ball over the bar.

With just under 15 minutes gone, Kelan Swales created space to cross however the ‘keeper had no trouble catching it.

And a few minutes later Avenue received a corner which Shanks took. However, the subsequent cross wasn’t able to get past the first line of defence and Avenue’s chance came and went.

That said, Avenue had their rivals rocking and Ossett had seemingly no response to Avenue’s pressing play.

Ossett’s first chance came just before the 30-minute mark when they produced a thunderous strike from 30 yards.

Avenues retaliated just minutes later when Luke Hogg struck from distance however his effort was comfortably caught by the ‘keeper.

Avenue started the second half on the front foot, Oli Norman was able to get the ball into the box which was hit the first time by Hanson. The rebound fell to Shanks who caused no trouble for the Ossett ‘keeper.

However, minutes later Ossett were able to find the back of the net with a fantastic ball which Elison was unable to save.

With only 15 minutes of the game left, Bradford found the goal they sought to equalise with an amazing effort from Dan Francis.

However, last minute heartbreak awaited.

The last action of the game saw Ossett put another one past Craig Ellison, ensuring that they progress and Avenue concentrate on the league.
