IT WASN’T a great watch as City and Wimbledon slugged out a goalless stalemate yesterday.

T&A chief sports writer SIMON PARKER was at Valley Parade and provides the match stats and his player ratings.

MAN OF THE MATCH

City’s two central defenders were immense against Wimbledon’s physical test. Cheick Diabate’s extra pace and aggression just shaded it from Jack Shepherd but both loanees were excellent.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

City breathed a huge sigh of relief when Myles Hippolyte’s shot stayed out of the net after hitting both points and rolling along the line.

MOAN OF THE MATCH

Another inconsistent referee is nothing new – but City were furious about the collision that sent Joe Adams flying in the box. He was forced off injured but there was no penalty as consolation.

TACTICS

Lewis Richards made his first league start since April 1 on the left of a back four.

Tyreik Wright played ahead of him in a midfield four with Bobby Pointon operating the other side of central duo Richie Smallwood and Alex Pattison.
