BRADFORD Dragons’ start to the new basketball season in the KitKing Trophy ended in defeat.
After a long off-season, they returned to action at home against a strong Derby Trailbazers side, but eventually fell to a 95-85 loss .
This was despite a valiant effort to come back in the final quarter, as they headed into the fourth section of the contest 78-59 down.
Bradford reached the final last season of the Kitking Trophy, but were beaten at the final hurdle by a Derby once again on that occasion.
Dragons’ return to action signalled the return of four familiar faces in Rihards Sulcs, Andreas Lycoudis, Jordan Whelan and Micah Savery-Richards.
Summer signings Kofi Josephs, Andre Gayle, Jevon Laidler and Oscar Baldwin all got their first taste of matchday action too.
Bradford returns to action this Saturday when they travel to face off with Newcastle University, with the fixture getting underway at 4:15 pm.
