FORMER City player Tibor Szabo, who was well known in local non-league circles, has died aged 64.
Szabo joined the Bantams as an apprentice and made 13 appearances for the first team in the 1978-79 season, eight of them starts. He scored one league goal at home to Torquay.
He later played with Liversedge and Eccleshill United among several non-league clubs before dropping down to local football with East Bowling Unity and Oakenshaw.
Bradford-born Szabo was a coach at Halifax Town as well as a PE teacher, going on to coach junior players and helped set up the Vision Coaching Academy in 2001.
The son of Roza and the late Ferenc, who played football in Hungary at the same time as the legendary Puskas, he leaves children Samantha and Daniel.
His funeral took place at Scholemoor Crematorium on Monday.
