Carlton will be playing in the Bradford Premier League Premier Division for the first time next season after clinching promotion with three games to play.
At the other end of the table, Hanging Heaton’s relegation from Division One was sealed when they suffered a 10-wicket defeat by Birstall on Saturday.
Carlton went up in style, bowling superbly in dismissing high-flying Hartshead Moor for just 84, easily defending a seemingly modest total of 143 to win by 59 runs.
They now only need five points to wrap up the title too.
Baildon are favourites to join Carlton in the top-flight after defeating in-form Sandal by five wickets.
Steady bowling from Cameron Sharp (3-44), Sam Kelly (3-48) and Seif Hussain (3-54) enabled Baildon to bowl out Sandal for 156.
Sharp, promoted to open the batting, made 56 and was backed up by Australian Angus Webb (32) as Baildon eased to victory.
Bankfoot are back up to third place after a 20-run win at East Bierley. Amer Ayoub (5-59) and James Lee (4-84) enabled them to restrict East Bierley to 263-9 when they replied to their score of 283.
Skipper Dwayne Heke (72), Hamza Saeed (39), Sam Gatenby (37) and Adam Brown (35) battled hard, but their efforts were not enough to deny Bankfoot who had built their score around the contributions of Adam Wainwright (71) and Quadratullah Azizi (52).
Danny Cross took 4-64 for East Bierley in a losing cause.
Yeadon’s winning run ended as they suffered a 17-run loss at Batley, but defeat was even more costly for Bowling Old Lane.
They went down by 97 runs at home to Morley, and with that coming in the same week as they were given a 20-point deduction for reaching Threshold One of the League Club’s Misconduct Code, their relegation is almost sealed.
It still all to play for at both ends of Division Two with just two more matches to play, after a double weekend of matches in the third tier brought its usual drama.
At the top as it stands, just 20 points separate the leading three, while in the relegation battle, the bottom trio are covered by 23 points.
Leaders Crossflatts backed up a 94 run win over Altofts on Saturday by defeating Buttershaw St Paul’s by three wickets on Sunday after successfully chasing down a DLS target of 229 from 34 overs.
That was tough on Paul Carroll, who had scored 114 in Buttershaw’s original total of 289-7, then claimed 3-15 when Flatts batted.
Buttershaw had at least beaten Heckmondwike & Carlinghow by two wickets the previous day.
Gomersal are right up at the summit with Crossflatts after their nine-wicket win over Scholes was followed by a seven-wicket success against Hopton Mills.
Mills had lost by five wickets the previous day to the other promotion hopefuls, Hunslet Nelson.
Nelson backed that victory up by beating Altofts by six wickets on Sunday.
At the other end of the table, Keighley joined Heckmondwike & Carlinghow in losing on the Saturday but gaining potentially vital victories on the Sunday.
Heckmondwike bounced back from their narrow defeat to Buttershaw by edging out Northowram Fields by nine runs, while Keighley beat East Ardsley by four wickets following a heavy 119-run defeat to Lightcliffe.
With two games to go, Heckmondwike & Carlinghow are two points ahead of second bottom Keighley.
Lightcliffe backed up that success against Keighley with another comprehensive win, as they defeated Scholes by seven wickets.
And as for the two sides beaten by relegation rivals Heckmondwike and Keighley on the Sunday, they faced each other on the Saturday, Northowram Fields beating East Ardsley by 118 runs.
Like in Division One, there were only Division Three games on Saturday.
Great Preston need just 16 points from their remaining three games to be crowned champions after a comprehensive 170-run win over Brighouse.
Wrenthorpe’s 95-run defeat at Streethouse means that Adwalton and Windhill & Daisy Hill are now just two and four points respectively behind then.
Adwalton were made to fight hard for their 10-run win over Crossbank Methodists, whereas Windhill & Daisy Hill romped to a comfortable 120-run victory over Spen Victoria.
Gildersome & Farnley Hill continued their good run with a 50-run win over Liversedge, while Wakefield St Michael’s beat East Leeds by 66 runs.
