YORKSHIRE have named their 13-man squad for their enormous Vitality County Championship Division Two clash with Middlesex at Headingley, which starts today.

Bradford native and England ace Jonny Bairstow is included for the second successive four-day game, having scored a half-century in the key four-wicket win over leaders Sussex at Scarborough last time out.

Will Luxton has made his breakthrough this season, and played his best red-ball knock to date in the win over Sussex, his 59 in the first innings paving the way for victory.

With the ball, Ben Coad has been sensational in the second half of the Championship season, and will be looking to build on the five-wicket haul he took in the Sussex second innings a few days ago.

Matt Revis and Jordan Thompson both took three wickets when Sussex batted first on the opening day, and will expect to take their places in their lower middle-order again this week.

Several of the 13 players in Yorkshire’s squad have worked under Ali Maiden, the second team coach over the last three years.

But like first-team head coach Ottis Gibson, Maiden has confirmed he will be departing at the end of the season.

He has signed a deal to become the head coach of the Birmingham Bears Women ahead of the 2025 campaign.
