YORKSHIRE are waving goodbye to pace bowler Dom Leech, who is leaving to join Northamptonshire ahead of the 2025 season.
And the 23-year-old will get a taster of life at Wantage Road over the next fortnight, having just joined his new club on loan for two weeks.
Having played seven first-class games and 16 short-format fixtures for Yorkshire since debuting for the county in 2020, Leech has agreed a three-year contract with Northamptonshire, taking him until the end of the 2027 season.
After his departure from Headingley was confirmed, Leech told Yorkshire’s official website: “I would like to thank Yorkshire County Cricket Club for the last eight years, starting as a 15-year-old lad in the academy.
“It was a dream come true to represent the White Rose and it’s something I’ll always be immensely proud of.
“I’ll never forget my first-class debut at Trent Bridge in 2020 – a game which gave me real motivation to want more.
“Leaving such a great club has been a really difficult decision and not one I’ve taken lightly, but I am confident it’s the best thing for my career right now.
“I’m hoping to still have an impact this year and help get us promoted back to Division One, where Yorkshire County Cricket Club belong.”
