THERE was an emphatic result in the Bradford Golf Union’s Second Division Team Championship on Sunday.

The Manor Golf Club won by an enormous 21 strokes on home soil, on a tricky day off the white tees.

Daniel Lane was the lowest scorer with 11 over par, and with his Manor team-mate Danny Hare the second best individual on 13 over, there was only ever going to be one winner.

West Bradford and South Bradford were the other teams on the podium, both finishing on 80 over par combined.

The Bradford Union team were at Fulford Golf Club on Sunday, as they took on York in the Yorkshire Inter-District Union Championship.

The bottom two going into the contest, Bradford were hammered 27-9, largely due to a disastrous singles performances on the afternoon.

Only Rob Molloy and Dale Brook won their individual games for the visitors, as York claimed the points in the other 10 match-ups.

The result dumps Bradford back to the foot of the table, with the only win in their five games so far in the Championship coming against Leeds at Baildon last month.
