Wibsey Warriors were in action in BD6 at the weekend, battling hard but losing 32-20 against Sharlston Rovers in Division One of the Yorkshire Men’s League.
They have been beaten in all seven league games they have played so far this season, but Bradford Dudley Hill are faring poorly by their standards too.
In the same division, Dudley Hill lost their fifth league game from nine this year, as they were thumped 38-12 at Mirfield.
Up in the Premier Division, Keighley Albion won a remarkable game at Almondbury Spartans.
The teams managed 88 points between them, Albion coming out on top with a 54-34 victory, leaping up to fifth in the eight-team table as a result.
The prolific Adam Gaunt helped himself to four tries for Albion from full back, while hooker Josh Tenniswood grabbed a hat-trick.
Second row Thomas Dunn-Birch managed a brace while loose forward Jak Adams also scored a try.
Stand off Jacob Cox converted seven of his 10 goal attempts.
Birkenshaw Blue Dogs won their first league game of the season at the 10th attempt, doing so impressively, as they obliterated fellow Division Two strugglers Emley Moor Cougars 42-12.
Brighouse Rangers moved three points clear at the summit as they edged out title rivals Moldgreen 24-22.
Lowly Wyke were hammered 62-6 by leaders Bramley Buffaloes in Division Three, while Guiseley Rangers remain second-bottom of Division Six after losing 30-10 at Rycroft Hammers.
Finally in the NCL Alliance Division, West Bowling Academy did not play but maintained their six-point lead at the summit, after Stanningley’s Alliance side surprisingly lost 30-10 at home to Milford Marlins.
Bowling Academy now turn their attentions to this Saturday’s YML Finals Day at Mount Pleasant, home of the Batley Bulldogs.
They are playing in the NCL Alliance Cup final, where they will take on Heworth.
The senior West Bowling side were not in National Conference League Premier Division action on Saturday, but down in Division One, Stanningley drew a gripping game 20-20 against near-neighbours Oulton Raiders, which keeps them ninth in the 12-team table.
Fourth-placed Drighlington’s promotion hopes took a knock in Division Three, as they were convincingly beaten 34-12 by East Leeds, who moved up to second in the process.
