BRADFORD (Park Avenue) have announced another new signing ahead of their upcoming 2024/25 Northern Premier League East Division campaign.

Avenue are looking to rebuild after two successive relegations, and feel they are in a position to do so.

Sporting director Tom McStravick insisted the club have “a top-four budget” in the division, and they flexed those financial muscles over the weekend.

They have signed 21-year-old right-back Kareem Hassan-Smith from neighbours Albion Sports, who is a product of Barnsley’s academy.

He was released by the Tykes last summer after a loan spell with Guiseley, while he spent time with both Eccleshill United and Albion in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division last season.

Hassan-Smith said: "I'm extremely excited to be joining BPA.

“The stature of the club and the project that's being built is very impressive and I'm looking forward to participating in it and having a successful season."

His new manager Danny Whitaker said: "It's fantastic to get Kareem on board.

“He’s a player who will offer us versatility on the right side, he’s got loads of energy and is aggressive in his defending.

“He's still young, but we’re confident the BPA environment, and the way we'll look to play, will make him an even better player going forward."

And McStravick added: “Kareem is hungry to succeed, is a good age and fits the profile of player we want to bring to the club.

“I want to thank to our scouting team once again for all their hard work.”

Hassan-Smith joins Connor Dimaio, Oli Norman, Connor Shanks, Paddy Sykes and Kelan Swales in joining Avenue ahead of the 2024/25 season, while James Hanson, Craig Ellison and Harry Colville have all signed new deals to stay following the expiry of their contracts this summer.
