YORKSHIRE’S fast bowler crisis appears to be easing, even if another injury has cropped up.

Dom Leech has made a bright start to their Vitality Blast campaign, but he picked up a side injury during the win over Northamptonshire on Sunday, so is currently being assessed.

If that does force him to miss their next T20 game, a North Group clash at home to Derbyshire this weekend, fans could see a straight swap, with Yorkshire head coach Ottis Gibson expecting Matt Fisher to return from his ankle problem to feature on Sunday.

Ben Coad is also recovering well from his back injury, and is in line to play for Yorkshire in their next Vitality County Championship clash, a Division Two encounter against Gloucestershire at Scarborough later this month.

Fellow fast bowlers Matt Milnes and Mickey Edwards will not be back any time soon, with both having suffered stress fractures that have ruled them out for the season.

Someone with a far less serious injury is opening batsman Adam Lyth.

The Yorkshire veteran missed last Sunday’s T20 win over Northamptonshire having suffered an elbow injury while fielding in the defeat to Leicestershire two days prior.

But that does not appear to be overly serious, and with Gibson having spoken to Yorkshire’s head of science and medicine Ed Owen, he expects Lyth to feature this Sunday against Derbyshire.
