SALTAIRE gained a much-needed win in the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division.
They defeated Pool by 24 runs in a low-scoring contest at Arthington Lane, scoring 144 after being put in.
Opener Subhaam Ammar (27) and Jibrael Malik, with a disciplined 51, were the visitors’ top scorers, although they will have been disappointed to stumble from 142-7.
Pool were 66-1 in reply, but had a bigger collapse to be all out for 120, unable to cope with Ihsan Isanullah (6-25), who was well supported by Tawkal Zadran (3-35) as Saltaire hauled themselves into a congested lower to middle table.
Tong Park Esholt topped 200 after winning the toss at home to Rawdon, but lost by four wickets in the 48th over.
Will Rhodes (43) and Jake Sali (32) did their jobs as openers in a partnership of 82 for TPE, but they lost a crop of wickets to be 102-6 before being revived by a stand of 60.
Saqib Mir made 49 and Chris Holdsworth 27, featuring in that duet, only to go from 202-7 to 212 all out.
Rawdon were 57-3 after tea, but a partnership of 137 then put them in charge, leaving TPE second from bottom, with only 18 points separating Burley in fourth from 11th-placed Esholt.
Zeeshan Haider (3-58) and Nachiket Verlekar (3-59) helped to dismiss home side Colton Institute for 153, but then Bolton Villas’ batting failed in their Division One clash and they were back in the pavilion for 88.
Only three Villas players made double figures - opener Siraj Hussain (19), Verlekar (11) and Haider (16) - in their innings of 23.5 overs, leaving them in mid-table.
Meanwhile, cellar dwellers Calverley St Wilfrids came oh so close to a first league win of the season, and at leaders Addingham to boot.
Calverley were asked to bat and made 164, an innings that was dominated by Danny Spencer’s 68 not out, which included five fours and two sixes.
He came to the crease when St Wilfrids were 34-2 and batted through, facing 128 deliveries, with no-one else reaching 20.
Addingham were in bother at 28-3 and 98-6, but found the resilience to win by one wicket in the 45th over, Nick Farrell (63no) doing a similar job to Spencer from the middle order.
The last-wicket pair put on four to seal Addingham’s win.
Bingley Congs made it three wins from four to stay fourth in the Division Two table.
Green Lane visited Beckfoot Lane and saw Congs make 212 after opting to bat, which looked unlikely when they were 47-6.
Overseas Jarrod Klauer started the revival with 66, putting on 93 for the seventh wicket with the powerful Neil Copping (60), with Klauer hitting seven fours and two sixes and Copping five fours and five sixes.
Partnerships of 32 and 33 followed, with the last being between No 10, skipper Alex Bradbury (16), and No 11 Harry Greenhalgh (16no).
Green Lane then lost wickets at regular intervals to be dismissed for 165, having three stands in the thirties as Mohammed Adil continued his fine season by taking 5-21.
Thackley were beaten by Leeds Modernians at Ainsbury Avenue, with the visitors notching their first win of the season.
Mods, asked to bat, scored 144, Craig Wiseman taking 3-27 and Jack Holland 4-29.
The hosts were always struggling in reply and were back in the pavilion for 105, with only Muhammad Shoaib (21) and No 9 Jordan Moore (28) topping 20.
Cellar dwellers Rodley made 144 after being sent in at Horsforth, Flinn Woodward Chapman (33) and opener Tom Pratt (29) doing the best with the willow.
Horsforth then won by five wickets in the 36th over, despite Kamran Ali taking 2-41 and Pratt 2-17.
