Defeat was particularly tough on Bradford & Bingley’s South African batter Louren Steenkamp.

For the second successive game he made exactly 100 and has been on the losing side both times.

His century came up off just 67 balls and was filled with quality shots.

He struck four sixes, plus 11 fours and shared in a second wicket stand of 119 with opener Jacob Slator, who made a patient 64.
