Ossett are planning a tribute to their former president Bob Schofield who died in February.

The club are naming their changing rooms and players’ balcony after Schofield who did so much to ensure the project to transform them was completed.

A naming ceremony will be staged at 11.30am on Saturday (today) before Ossett take on Townville in the Premier Division.

Ossett members past and present and league officials will be in attendance. Ossett are also extending an invitation to members of the cricket community who remember Bob fondly and would like to attend.

Club secretary Tristan Batley-Kyle said: “We feel it is only right to name the changing rooms and balcony after Bob. He did so much to ensure the project was delivered.

“We hope people who knew Bob either from his time as a player or his work as an administrator will come along. It is our chance to show how much Bob was appreciated.”
