CITY had two representatives at this prestigious meet which is without doubt the most competitive swimming competition held in Great Britain every four years.
Swimming as a junior in the 200m butterfly Sophia Gledhill, Harden, swam to a superb personal best time of 2.20.55. Her time was a club record in the 17/18yrs and Open category and placed her in twelfth position.
Swimming in the open events, Archie Minto, Burley in Wharfedale, smashed the Open club records in both the 100m and 200m butterfly in times of 55.45 and 2.03.16 respectively. His time in the 200m event placed him in the B final where he placed sixth.
Both swimmers achieved success in London at the highest level and both were competitive in their respective events.
Both the swimmers train with Bradford Council’s Leisure Services Aquatic Competition Programme under the guidance of Senior Coach Andy Pearce and Development Coach Sarah Fisher.
