BRADFORD Dudley Hill have won their first competitive rugby league game of 2024.
They were in BARLA (British Amateur Rugby League Association) Cup action against Westgate, and won the preliminary round tie 24-4 over the Easter Weekend.
Dudley Hill, previously finalists in the competition, have therefore advanced to the first round, which will take place on Saturday, April 27.
But Keighley Albion will not be joining them in the first round, having lost their preliminary tie 42-26 to Lowca on Saturday.
With no National Conference League action taking place over the Easter Weekend, it was the Yorkshire Men’s League clubs, included Dudley Hill and Albion, who took centre stage.
The other Bradford District side in competitive action was the Birkenshaw Bluedogs, but they were bundled out of the YML Trophy at the first hurdle with a 20-4 away defeat to Dodworth Miners.
Otherwise it was just friendlies on offer, as Wyke A impressed with a 32-22 victory at Guiseley Rangers A.
West Bowling Academy were beaten 28-18 at Milford, while Queensbury were thumped 30-0 away to Illingworth.
