KEIGHLEY potter Chris Melling is heading out to America.
Ultimate Pool, founded in the UK a few years ago, has just launched its USA brand, with some of the top stars from over the pond set to take part in it.
But some marquee names are coming over from Europe to take part in one of their first events, the Louisiana Shootout, which will take place on Saturday, April 18.
He was the first player to be announced, alongside former Mosconi Cup rival Shane Reinhold, who hails from California.
There will be 16 players taking part in total, though not all of them have been announced yet.
The Shootout, billed as 16 players, 15 matches, one champion, will be swiftly followed by the Louisiana Open, which Melling will also be taking part in from Sunday, April 19 to Tuesday, April 21.
The Open event will see the top 48 finishers all guaranteed prize money, with the winner scooping a cool $30,000.
Both events will be taking place at Shreveport Convention Centre in Louisiana.
Closer to home, Melling is in Blackpool over the next few days, along with fellow Keighley native Arfan Dad, for events three and four of this year’s Ultimate Pool Pro Series.
