Bradford (Park Avenue) have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of key midfielder Simon Richman, following discussions with him earlier this week.
During those discussions, the 33-year-old informed the club that, due to personal reasons, playing football was not a priority for him.
Avenue have said they wish the former Altrincham midfielder all the best, and have thanked him for his time in the Avenue shirt.
Richman joined Avenue ahead of the 2021-22 season, playing 65 times for them in National league North before their relegation from the division in May.
After leaving in the summer, he returned to the club just after the start of this season, but has now decided to depart once more.
In light of this news, Avenue have acted quickly, and have confirmed the non-contract signing of Reward Mwakona.
At 25 years old, the Zimbabwean defender joins with a wealth of experience, having spent time at Morecambe, Larne in Northern Ireland, and Airbus in Wales.
Mwakona is available to play for Avenue in their away game on Saturday at Lancaster City in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, with the BD6 side currently out of the relegation zone on goal difference only.
