WEST Bowling have been celebrating a pair of individual awards to go alongside their National Conference League Division One title win in 2023.
Saturday night marked the NCL’s End of Season Awards, and unsurprisingly, Bowling were in the running, having won the league with 17 victories in 20 games.
Back-rower Oliver Bartle was named Division One Player of the Year, as a key figure in the backbone of the side that swept to the title with several weeks to spare.
He also added seven tries for good measure.
And it was no surprise to see Dean Muir named as Division One’s Coach of the Year, after he guided Bowling into the NCL Premier Division in his first season at the helm.
Muir has now left the club in order to join League 1 Hunslet, so whoever takes charge will be looking to carry on his good work in the top flight.
The Bradford side are still actively looking for Muir’s replacement, and applications and CVs for that vacant head coach role should be sent to westbowlingarlfc@gmail.com as soon as possible.
