BRADFORD Olympian Trampoline Club have soared to yet more success as one of their gymnasts achieved a brilliant bronze medal at the British Trampoline Championships held at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.

Emily Hebden, competing for the first time in the over 15’s disability category, qualified through to the event final in 3rd place, and held her nerve in front of a large arena audience to clinch a podium finish with a final score of 81.30.

This was an incredible achievement given that she was by far the youngest in the category and despite some really strong competition in a close-run final, Emily ended up winning bronze by just 1.60 points, yet was only 1.40 points behind the silver medal position.

Then only a week later, the club had further success at the Inter-Regional Finals, also held at the Utilita Arena, where 6 of their talented competition squad were in action representing Yorkshire against regions from across England, along with strong teams representing Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

First up was Izzy Chivers (Level 3 Women 11-12), who performed two incredible routines to finish in 10th place with a score of 78.51.

Next up was Dhilan Daly (Level 3 Men 13-14), competing at this level for the very first time, coming away with a 13th place finish with a score of 78.38.

The fantastic performances then continued with both Beatrice Teasdale and Elysia Robinson (Level 4 Women 11-12) completing two clean routines to finish in 18th and 20th place respectively with scores of 73.68 and 73.29.

And finally, to conclude an outstanding day for the club, Evie Ingram (Level 4 Women 15-16) secured a best-ever 11th position at this level, scoring an impressive 79.71 which was then followed by Dexter Clark-Dunn (Level 4 Men 15-16) who delivered a 12th place finish with an accomplished performance which resulted in a score of 80.30.

All 6 gymnasts had to progress through a series of qualification rounds to reach the Yorkshire Regional Final held in June where the top two in each age category were selected to represent the county.

This success is made possible due to the passion and dedication of the coaching team at the Bradford Club, who volunteer their time to give children and adults of all abilities the opportunity to achieve whilst having fun in a safe, friendly, and nurturing environment, assisted by a support network of parents, friends and club supporters whose contribution is invaluable to the ongoing achievements of the club.

The Girlington-based club, established in 1984 by head coach Mike Abbott, have around 70 members aged between 5 and 50 and offer trampolining lessons for all abilities.
