WEST Bowling have won the National Conference League Division One title, but the man who guided them into the top-flight, Dean Muir, will not be joining them there in 2024.
Muir, who was also on Keighley Cougars’ coaching staff while in the top job at Bowling, has taken on the vacant head coaching at League 1 side Hunslet.
He will take that role up officially from October 1, by which time Hunslet will know whether they are in the second or third tier next season.
They face a play-off semi-final against North Wales Crusaders this weekend, and will play Doncaster in the final the following weekend, with one of those three to be promoted alongside League 1 champions Dewsbury.
Hunslet’s current head coach, Alan Kilshaw, is leaving to take on the top job at Swinton Lions ahead of the 2024 season, with his current squad including former Bulls captain and vice-captain Steve Crossley and Sam Hallas.
