KEIGHLEY RUFC head coach Dan McGee is taking on an additional role next season, after being named as the club’s new director of rugby.
He will remain in position as the Counties One Yorkshire side’s head coach but is now going to combine that with that directorial role, after Russ Gibson stepped down from the position at the end of last season.
McGee, who will have support from his fellow coaches and team management as he attempts to manage the workload both jobs bring, said: “It feels like a natural progression into the role as director of rugby at Keighley RUFC.
“I am looking forward to supporting the coaches and working with the committee in helping to continue to grow and move the club in the right direction.
“Russ Gibson has laid some fantastic foundations and really put Keighley RUFC in a strong position on and off the field.
“We have some fantastic playing talent at the club, and I am especially excited by the new crop of junior and senior colts.
“The future is bright.”
Keighley have also announced their friendly fixtures ahead of the new season.
They will be visiting Clitheroe and Cleckheaton on Saturday, August 19 and Thursday, August 24 respectively.
There will also be a game against Skipton, though the date for that has yet to be confirmed.
