The Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup returns for the group stage from next Monday, with three players from the Bradford District involved.

Of that trio, it is Bradford’s Karl Boyes who stands out, forming part of what is arguably the most eye-catching pairing of the tournament.

Boyes, who works primarily as a Matchroom pundit and a YouTube content creator, also plays on the Ultimate Pool circuit and brings with him serious pedigree, having won the World 8-Ball Championships back in 2010.

But even he does not have the back catalogue of his Pairs Cup partner, with the Bradfordian joined in the competition by six-time world champion Mick Hill.

Hill and Boyes kick off their Pairs Cup campaign in Group 8, which gets underway on August 14.

Chris Melling is the first of the trio to get going at the tournament, with the Keighley veteran beginning his campaign alongside Jake McCartney on July 31 in Group 6.

Last up is Melling’s fellow Keighley native Arfan Dad, who is joined by his regular Pairs Cup partner Craig Waddingham for Group 14 on September 25.
