MORLEY have taken over at the top of the Premier Division after defeating bottom team Bankfoot by six wickets. Two of their experienced campaigners David Nebard (5-31) and Matt Baxter (50) played key roles in their triumph.

Spinner Nebard helped restrict Bankfoot to 146-8, Muhammad Salman top scoring with 36, before Baxter made 50 as Morley eased to victory.

Morley have taken over the leadership from Pudsey St Lawrence who suffered a 22-run defeat against Farsley.

Jamie Blackburn (85no) and Hames Hoyland (37) helped Farsley to make 261-9. David Heslop (75), Aaron Day (54) and Jonty Mighell (45) led the St Lawrence reply of 239. James Rogers (4-55) and Adam Slater (3-44) helped seal the win for the Red Lane side who are now level on points with the Saints and three behind Morley who have 88.

Woodlands are eight points off the lead in fourth place after defeating Batley by six wickets. Eighteen-year-old Matty Long (89), Cieran Garner (55) and Jak Murphy (32no) helped them chase down the Batley score of 232-9 which featured 87 from Mohammad Addas and 59 from Umar Mirza. Nathan Bromby was the pick of the bowlers with 5-46.

Defending champions Jer Lane overcame lowly New Farnley by 27 runs. Nisar Chowdrey (55) and Haseeb Rehman (44) guided Jer Lane to 184-8 as leg spinner Jack Dyson returned figures of 3-30.

Ed Denton (47| and Jonny Phillips (37) battled hard for New Farnley, but their side were dismissed for 157 with Junaid Jamshed taking 3-49.

The Premier Division’s first tie of the season was played out at Birch Lane between Bowling Old Lane and Lightcliffe.

David Knight (64) and Yusuf Malik (63) helped Lightcliffe to 214-8 before Adam Zahid (45), Fahad Khan (38) and Muhammad Yasir (35) took Old Lane to 214 all out. Marcus Kelly (4-43) was the key bowler for Lightcliffe.

Chris Goodair (71) and Jamie Baulk (48) helped Hanging Heaton chase down a Pudsey Congs total of 192-9 to win by three wickets. The victory was set up by off spinner Harvey Anderson (6-50) while Bilal Butt (50), Ayaan Khokar (49) and Adam Patrick (32).

Division One

Methley have a 31-point lead after Jake McCaffrey (65no), Rob Withers (53no) and Vinnie Banks (46) enabled them to breeze past an Undercliffe score of 227-9 to win by seven wickets.

Amaan Ali (71no) top scored for Undercliffe as Rob Withers (3-33), Finlay Rooke (3-64) and Robert Clegg (3-68) took the bowling honours.

East Bierley are second despite suffering a five-wicket loss against Carlton. Heinz Petzold (5-60) posed the main threat as East Bierley were bowled out for 184, Stuart Kirk scoring 42 and Ross Monaghan (37). Lee Hurst (55), Thomas Mellor (43) and James Cooper (32) secured victory for Carlton.

 

Kieran Samuels scored a fine 115, an innings containing two sixes and 19 fours, as Townville secured a nail-biting one-wicket win over Yeadon. Nash Charles (35) also made an important contribution as Abu Bakar-Siddiq threatened to win the game for Yeadon with 4-49.

The division’s best bowling performance of the day came from young Nash Charles who took 7-52 for Townville as Yeadon made 206 batting first. Asad Khan hit a breezy 91 while Seth Pickering made 50 and Patrick Parker (33).

Brighouse picked up their second win when they overcame Cleckheaton by two wickets at Moorend. Mohammed Imran (5-28) and Kabir Hussain (3-39) joined forces as Cleckheaton, despite 60 from skipper Ian Carradice, were bowled out for 139. Waqas Ilyas made 44 in the successful reply despite Richard Noble claiming 3-16.

Third place Baildon had a comfortable 149-run win over Gomersal. Stefan Mather (83), Sam Woledge-Wilkinson (50) and Miraj Khan (39) helped them make 297.

Gomersal were dismissed for 148 with Matthew Barnes (55) top scoring as Jamie Abbott (4-24) and Josh Capper (2-34) got to work.

Bradford & Bingley bowled out East Ardsley for just 67 as they cruised to a seven-wicket win. Abdullah Hussain (4-24) and Archie Barraclough (3-12) were the key bowlers.

Division Two

Lee Gelderd (6-36) scuppered Hunslet Nelson as leaders Sandal bowled out their opponents for 77 to complete a 91-run win.

Scott Fairbrass (51) and Geldard (37) were the main contributors as Sandal made 168 despite the efforts of Tom Marshall (6-49) and Glen Thompson (3-48).

Sandal top the table on net run rate from Altofts who overcame Hopton Mills by seven wickets with Jaymes Hollingsworth producing the day’s best bowling figures of 8-37 as Mills, despite 53 from Zaaid Sajwal were dismissed for 158. Steve Rigby (60) and Sam Denton (57no) led the successful run chase.

Lewis Moore (88), Callum Phillipson (53) and Brad Patefield (44) guided Northowram Fields to 262-6 in their 97-run win over East Leeds. David Young (55) and Rajab Ali (39) top scored as East Leeds were dismissed for 165 with Sam Walker taking 3-57.

Joshua Atha (3-4), Sam Holmes (3-26) and Ian McDermott (3-28) helped Great Preston bowl out Hartshead Moor for 152 to wrap up a 58-run win. Mark Hargreaves (52), Michael Wade (48) and Clinton Griffiths (36) were the main contributors to Great Preston’s 210-4.

Harry Temperton (42) and Noah Thirkill (35) guided Keighley to a six-wicket win over Liversedge who they bowled out for 115 Joe Shuttleworth top scored with 37 as Louie Wilkinson claimed 4-20.

Division Three
Crossflatts are setting the pace after another comprehensive victory. This time they defeated Gildersome & Farnley Hill by nine wickets after Ben Hinchcliffe (60no) and Freddie Maddocks (30no) enabled them to overhaul a score of 130 in which Mohammad Mustansar scored 33 and Maddocks took 4-23.

Heckmondwike & Carlinghow are second after a 99-run win over Spen Victoria. The match featured two good bowling performances with Yusuf Kayat’s 6-37 for Spen being topped by Javed Iqbal’s 6-20 for Heckmondwike & Carlinghow. Asad Ejaz (46), Waqas Butt (37) and Imran Akhtar helped Heckmondwike & Carlinghow to 199-9 before they bowled out their rivals for 100.

Neil Kellett hit an unbeaten 102 as Scholes made 225-5 in their 25-run win over Windhill & Daisy Hill. He struck two sixes and 11 fours and was supported by Shafaqat Ali (48). Windhill & Daisy Hill replied with 200-5, Phil Drake (52), Graeme Crabtree (40), Byron Greenwood (35no) and Rizwan Bhatti (35no) were the main contributors.

Jack Conway and Sandip Patel both made 51 as Buttershaw St Paul’s scored 219-9 before dismissing Crossbank Methodists for 145 to secure a 74-run win. Kurt Baxter took 5-51 for St Paul’s while Theo Hanson returned figures of 5-34 for Crossbank.

Wrenthorpe were dismissed for 83 as they went down by four wickets against Wakefield St Michael’s. Ryan Hutchinson took 4-24 for St Michael’s while Patrick Green picked up 4-20 for Wrenthorpe.
