A DEPLETED Bankfoot side were knocked out of the Priestley Cup yesterday by a ruthless Farsley side, while their Bradford rivals East Bierley were thumped by Townville.
Both games went as expected, with Bankfoot missing a number of key players in a game which would likely have been a far closer affair had both sides been at full strength.
Bankfoot batted first, but were bowled out for just 116, as left-arm spinner Joe Pocklington twirled his way to 5-28.
Danny Colehan was the only Bankfoot batsman to make any sort of mark on proceedings, as he scored 33.
Farsley had little trouble chasing that paltry total down, winning by six wickets after Ryan Cooper struck 42 not out.
East Bierley may be top in Division One of the Bradford Premier League, but they were always going to find it tough against top-flight heavyweights Townville.
The Bradford side were dismissed for 121, and Townville soon strolled to a seven-wicket victory.
Elsewhere yesterday in the cup, Methley beat Sandal by 84 runs, while Hanging Heaton won by five wickets against Gomersal.
A host of Bradford sides had made it through to round two already, with that last-16 line up now completed after yesterday’s results.
There are two Bradford derbies, as Woodlands host Jer Lane and Baildon travel to Undercliffe.
Bradford & Bingley are at home to Batley too, while Cleckheaton visit Yeadon.
All eight second-round ties are due to be played on Sunday, June 4.
