IN the Bradford & District Sunday School Billiards League championship play-off semi finals, Princeville C, who had finished in sixth place in the regular season, pulled off a shock win away to champions Bradford Deaf Centre B to earn a place in the final.
Mick Cockcroft's early 12-point win for Princeville proved decisive, because it ultimately also secured the aggregate point, with his teammates missing out by just seven and one respectively for a 2-2 scoreline.
Under the rules of the competition, drawn games are settled on the aggregate scores and so on this measure Princeville C squeezed through by four points.
In the other semi-final, runners up Pudsey B had a comfortable 3-1 victory over fourth-placed Princeville B, with Richard Bowes their match winner after a big win against the league secretary, Stephen Kershaw, which included breaks of 63 and 54 unfinished.
Pudsey B, as the higher placed side, will have home advantage in the final against surprise finalists Princeville C.
RESULTS:
Bradford Deaf Centre B 2 (500) Princeville C 2 (504)
Pudsey B 3 Princeville B 1
BREAKS:
R Bowes (Pudsey B) 63 & 54 unfinished, P Devitt (Princeville C) 31
