FORMER Essex County Cricket Club leg-spinner Tom Craddock has become the new head coach of Yorkshire’s academy.
He was born in Huddersfield, so has Yorkshire roots anyway, and has already been at Headingley since 2020.
He has spent three years as a high performance coach at the club, with his previous role seeing him work with the county’s age-group teams, while he also spent time as Yorkshire’s women’s coach.
Craddock, who took 40 wickets in 17 first-class games for Yorkshire, replaces James Lowe as the club’s lead academy coach, with Lowe moving into a role with the second team at Yorkshire.
The former leggie’s best achievement at Headingley so far was leading the Under-16 side to the ECB National Trophy final last year.
In his new role, Craddock is expected to be assisted by a quintet of coaches, with former Leicestershire player Tim Boon one of those.
