GUISELEY have announced the extension of Courtney Meppen-Walter's loan from Radcliffe FC.

The defender, who has started all five of The Lions' games since he moved to Nethermoor, will now remain with the club until the end of the season.

A former Manchester City academy star, Meppen-Walter was controversially jailed for 16 months in 2013 for causing the deaths of two siblings, Kulwant Singh, 32, and Ravel Kaur, 37, by careless driving.

Meppen-Walter was just 18 at the time of the offence in September 2012, and he escaped another prison sentence after being found twice the legal alcohol limit behind the wheel in Manchester in December 2018.

He instead received a 22-month driving ban.

Meppen-Walter was released by Manchester City after he was found guilty of the former offence, but after being released from jail early, he joined Carlisle United.

He played 29 league games for the Cumbrians, before dropping out of the Football League.

He has since played for the likes of Stockport County and Chorley.
