SOPHIE Thackray (Paul Milnes Bradford Olympic) finished a superb second in the final round of the National Trophy Cyclo-Cross Series at Gravesend.
The 23-year-old Eldwick rider clocked a creditable 57 minutes and 56 seconds to take that runners-up spot.
She was only beaten by Belgium’s Meg De Bruyne (Proximus-Alphamotorhomes), 26 and a regular in international events in Europe, who finished in exactly 57 minutes.
Apperley Bridge’s Eleina McFadden (East Bradford CC), a pupil at Immanuel School, was 23rd in the Under-16 girls’ race.
