CLECKHEATON retained the Fred Scott Memorial Trophy by defeating rivals Old Brodleians 33-21 in front of a large crowd in their Boxing Day clash at Moorend.
Fielding a mixture of first and second-team players, Cleckheaton took a grip on proceedings in the first half, leading 26-0 at the interval.
Tries came from Robin Bennett and Tom Hainsworth (3), with Bailey Smith adding three conversions.
Cleckheaton’s fifth try came from Richard Noble, with Smith converting, but Brods made the final score more respectable with three late converted tries.
