Jordan Pickford was recalled in goal having missed the September international break due to injury.
There was also a start for Harry Maguire, despite the fact he has been dropped by Manchester United in recent weeks.
England's starting six' is as follows - England XI (4-3-3): Pickford; Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Bellingham, Rice, Saka, Mount, Sterling; Kane.
Both James Maddison and Kyle Walker will not be playing in today’s World Cup opener.
